#Bulgamerica Day 21 : The Broken Chain by Ron Tranmer

We knew little that morning that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our heart to lose you; you did not go alone; for the part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Ron Tranmer

PS :
I'm in LA now, Win. You know it's not that easy to smile. It still hurts me sometimes to know you're gone. But I keep trying, you know. I'm trying to be happy, knowing you're Home already.
Happy birthday, Brother. I miss you. So much.

#Bulgamerica Day 14 : Memories (Niagara Falls)

Akhirnya tiba.

Kubiarkan terik matahari menyengat kulitku.

#Bulgamerica Day 13 : Friends Forever

#Bulgamerica Day 6 : A Night in Istanbul

My Turkish Bed Cover
Another new city to explore! This one is completely new and different. Never been to any Middle East country before. Many of BMS members have.

First thing we did was finding a money exchance, because Turkiye has a different money currency than Bulgaria. Then, tried to find perfect partner(s) to explore the city! This is quite important, since we only had about 6 hours before midnight. We're leaving the city the next morning for the flight to Washington DC. :(

#Bulgamerika Day 4 : One More Step!

The best feeling I've ever had after a performance was when I stepped off the stage stairs after singing in the Mixed Choir Category. I've joined BMS in all the Tolosa, Maribor, and Arezzo, but nothing compares to the feeling I have today. That was Clean, Neat, Perfect Intonation, Enough Expressions. All well done! Let's hope for the best!

#Bulgamerika Day 3 : Adrenaline Rush

#Bulgamerika Day 3 : Adrenaline Rush

The competition day is getting closer. Today was the grand opening. The comitee asked us to perform in the opening, with the US Choir. BMS performed our trasitional song, "Mande-Mande" and "Janger". We can't call it our best performance, since we haven't rehearsed the song appropriately. Some of us still sang it wrong, such as a voice from Tenor section that sang "Kopyak sede..." with "Kopyak se....pong". Oh, so glad we were not sing it in Indonesia.

The US choir sang a good song. They were great. It seemed that they produced a perfect intonation effortless. That's scary, you know. While we're dying to reach that. Watching them with their masterpiece repertoire makes us more and more excited for the competition day, on our trembling knee..

#Bulgamerica Day 2 : Finally Arrived!

Good morning, World!
05:30 (Turkey Time)
Starting the day by watching sunrise from the window plane. Ohh, with a tired ass as a bonus. >,<
Nothing more to tell. Still trying to make ourselves comfortable in this 11-hours flight to Istanbul.

19:30 (Bulgaria Time)
Finally arrived in Bulgaria after a long bus ride from Turkey to Bulgaria. It was the longest on we've ever taken, might be around 11 hours including the stops? It took us almost 24 hours in total from Jakarta to Varna, Bulgaria.

It's interesting to see the Turkey-Bulgaria border. It's very quiet, dark, and old. It's noon, but I still felt like in the "Silent Hill" in live. Too bad it's not allowed to take pictures in the police office building. I only took one picture of an empty old red house that welcomed us with a cold 'hello' right after we stepped off the bus.

#Bulgamerica Day 1 : Now It's Time!

Finally the day has arrived. Can't believe it's finally here. After practising and doing preparations for months, now it's nearly the time for us to evaluate everything. No turning back!

Starting a journey with mixed feeling.

Ambitious - I've been joining Batavia Madrigal Singers since October 2005, and joining (almost) all the competition abroad. It's my 4th competition with BMS eversince, after Tolosa (2006), Slovenia (2009), and Arezzo (2010).
All of them are included in the European Grand Prix of Singing. It's the most prestigious choir competition in the world. It's never been easy, but it's worth all the time, energy, and money spent for having such an extraordinary experience. Plus, being in all the process help us to improve our choral singing ability.
It's been a very busy months lately (especially the last one). We've been rehearsing and doing every-sunday concert. After all the sacrifices, we have to do our best for the competition then. Never feel this ambitious for winning the competition. Both in Slovenia and Arezzo we're the 2nd Champion. They were happy moments, but it's not enough. Wish to be the Grand Champion in Varna, so we can join the Grand Prix next year.

Excited - It's always fun to see new places. Being with BMS is givibg me chances to see unexpected places. Just take us there, then we'll explore. Moreover, it's allowed for us to extend our stay at the last destination, or even continue travelling to other places after the tour has finished. All we need to do is reschedule or reroute the flight, and make sure we have the fund to to the traveling, since the extention is not included in the group expenses.
Btw, the choir members have been calling me "Miss Extend" because of my habbit to extend in every tour the choir make. This time, going to Varna (Bulgaria) is interesting itself. The more interesting thing is our chance to do some concert in Washington DC and New York City. I've been there long time ago, but still goinf there again would be so much fun!
This year extend itinerary of mibe is also Super! After finish the concert, me and some my NY friends will have a road-trip to Niagara. Then me and two of my BMS friends will fly to Las Vegas, then doing a road-trip to THE Grand Canyon National Park, driving South to Sedona, then going to LA to do more exploring and fly back to Jakarta.
Hope everything runs well. *crossingfingers*

Home Sick - Yeah, funny. I got homesick even before the tour began. Since the loss of my only brother, we're getting closer to each others. It's not getting easier here. It's worse. Thanks to certain people who have taken away our smile once more.
Being there with them, at least I still can them smiling. It's such a comfort to know they're happy. Being far away makes me worry so much.
Well, I guess I'm mostly responsible for my own happiness for this moment.

For the journey has just been started, I will have to pray that everything goes well.
